Blind mode

How Blind mode works in CutClub: anonymous submissions, pure music appreciation.

Blind mode is Classic with one key difference: nobody knows who submitted what until the results are in. No playing favorites, no voting for your best friend's pick just because it's theirs.

How it works

The matchup structure is the same as Classic, but during the voting phase, submitter names are replaced with randomly generated aliases: something like "Neon Penguin" or "Shadow DJ." You vote on the music, not the person.

When voting closes, the reveal happens: aliases drop, real names appear, and the comment section catches fire.

What's hidden and what isn't

  • Submitter names: hidden until the reveal. You see an alias during voting.
  • Song metadata: artist name and title can be hidden until you actually listen to the cut. This is on by default in Blind mode.
  • Reactions and comments during voting: shown under the alias, not the real name.

After the reveal, everything goes public.

Late submissions

Late submissions are disabled by default in Blind mode. This prevents players from using submission timing to guess who picked what.

Voting and scoring

Everything else works the same as Classic: points pool, no self-voting, standings accumulate across the season.
