Start a season

How to set up a club, invite players, and kick off your first season.

Every CutClub season starts with a host. If you're reading this, that's probably you.

Create your account

Go to playcutclub.com and sign up. Your account ties your club, submissions, and season history together.

Set up your club

Once you're in, start a new season. You'll be asked to:

  • Name your club -- whatever your group goes by
  • Choose a season length -- 8, 10, or 12 weeks
  • Pick a pricing plan -- Season Pass (unlimited players) or Per Seat (pay per active player)

Invite your players

After setup, you'll get an invite link to share with your group. Anyone who joins through that link is added to your club for the season. Players sign up when they accept the invite. There's no separate onboarding for them.

Game modes

Before launching, you choose how your season is structured. CutClub has five modes:

  • Classic -- the standard game. Everyone submits, everyone votes, points stack, highest total wins.
  • Blind -- same as Classic, but submissions are anonymous until the reveal. You vote on the music, not the person.
  • Survivor -- elimination mode. Lowest scorer each round is out. Last player standing wins.
  • Teams -- players are divided into teams. Individual points contribute to your team's total. Both individual and team standings are tracked.
  • Bracket Finale -- regular season rounds build standings, then top players compete in a single-elimination bracket.

If you're not sure, Classic is the right place to start.

Season settings

Before the first matchup, you can configure:

  • Theme source -- write your own, pull from the library, or use the AI theme generator
  • Slack integration -- connect a channel to get reminders and results posted automatically
  • Schedule -- one matchup per week is the default, but timing is adjustable

What happens after you launch

Once the season starts, the first theme drops and players have until the deadline to submit their cut. After that, voting opens. You're off.

As the host, you can pause the season at any point and resume when your group is ready.
